Alliance for
Housing Justice
Issues
The fight for fair housing is ongoing. These policies apply to virtually all forms of housing and a broad array of housing-related transactions.
Our housing system isn’t doing the job of making sure everyone has a home.
Social housing is our answer.
Eliminating exclusionary zoning could advance racial & economic justice.
Let's get it right.
While the federal COVID-19 eviction moratorium is no longer in effect, some areas still have non-payment eviction moratoriums in place.
Resources
A primary goal of our alliance is to strengthen the ability of grassroots organizations and directly impacted people to influence & engage in shifting federal policies through local & trans-local organizing.
At grassroots partners' request, we're building a legal library for tenant rights and housing justice advocacy.
The Housing Law Library includes legal explainers, policy documents, and rights toolkits. It is being piloted by grassroots organizers around the United Statesand will evolve with organizer feedback.
AHJ members have assembled fact sheets on crucial federal housing programs and policies for organizers and the public, crafted in response to grassroots demand.
Similar to the Housing Law Library, AHJ is actively seeking feedback from organizers and advocates to ensure these resources are effective.
Social Housing Finance
These factsheets & webinar offer organizers & advocates overviews of key parts of the federal funding landscape that may be used toward social housing solutions to the housing crisis.
While not all directly align with our social housing principles, a clear view of the landscape is vital for effective advocacy & strategic planning.
